I think I might quit WoW, officially ending my MMO stint. Not that there isn't plenty I could be doing, I just lack the time. I could possibly play it at work, but then it'd just be half-asses playing, like I couldn't do anything serious because I might have to actually work. That's when my guild does most of their stuff too...

I was watching all the vids about customer characters and new shit in Soul Calibur 4, and I found this shit...

There's already an infinite. You'd think they'd test shit as simple as this before putting a damn game out. Way to ruin another one!

I guess sometimes it's just time to move on.  I credit most of this decision to months of paying for a character I don't play, some of it to Ruke's recent PW bonanza, and the rest of it to apathy.  They're going to keep making better gear, and harder bosses, and more time sinks over and over until I'm 30.  I just can't keep up anymore.  I'm the best tank I've ever known, so I can live with that.  At least this way I get to cut out while I'm on top (At least in my head).  Either way, it was a fun trip, I met a lot of awesome people, and I hope to be able to play with them sometime in the future.  If not, I hope all of Shinsengumi does well with whatever they do.

The problem with WoW

So I'm fairly certain I've discovered why people quit WoW.  It's mostly the american populus.  Seriously.  At least with FFXI, you can pretend to be polite through usage of the Auto-translate.  You at least say Please, you know?  But in WoW, man, I've encountered so much drama through casual raiding it makes my head spin.  We're talking full on bitch-out sessions based of smilies.  We're talking people stealing items to get back at one another.  We're talking entire guilds breaking because of on sarcastic comment.  Soho definitely wouldn't be playing WoW, because the people in WoW are so over-sensitive and defensive that you can't even make comments in your own guild without it reaching every person on the server.  At this point I'm not even involved in real end-game raiding, and it's already ridiculous.  I've had the "I'm a mature adult" scenario thrown at me, the "I have over 20k in gold-I-don't-need-shit-why-would-I-ninja-that?" played on me, hell I've actually watched guild mates go at each other for differing opinions.  OPINIONS!  It's just mind boggling.  At least in FFXI, you have some decency involved.  If someone stole something, of course ostracize them, but people managed to have differing opinions without going at each other's throats.  Well, I can't say there wasn't some drama between myself and other players (<3 Aroin), but we still managed to get over it and move on.  In WoW it's almost as if people are waiting for the chance to jump on each other.  Like they want to be seen as victims to someone, the guy who got taken advantage of, something.  It's as if people are so worried about their online reputation that they can't bear the thought of someone not liking them, so they must immediately brand that person as garbage.  It's ridiculous, lol.  I've had people threaten to throw me out of raids before because I told them I couldn't sap a demon mob.  Yeah, it's that bad (Sap is like sleep btw, for all the FFXI people, it's a rogue crowd control ability).  I'd like to play more WoW, but with FFXI people.  At least I can call them faggots and have them not run off crying.

OKAY FFXI POST GO!

With all the recent smash talk going on in
[info]enixmoogle 's LJ, been wondering alot about fighting games in general.  If you read through his ongoing posts, he's a SSB players who's getting kinda disgusted at himself for developing SKILL.  Which I think is bullshit.  I mean, just the amount of time I've spent on my shitty Ogre's and I still don't feel like I "deserve" to win.  It does bring up some pretty shitty trends in the fighting game community though.

First off, wtf is with dumbing games down now?  If you play a standard match of Tekken 5 these days, you might as well be playing paper/rock/scissors.  And I mean, it's not like it's completely based off luck, but shit, any moron who's scrolled through the move list can do an 80% combo, and that's off one lucky d/f2.  And while I do wish more players would enter the scene, I just can't agree with such a shallow game.  I remember when I first got into fighting games, playing CvS1 at Golf N Stuff.  And I remember being the top of that shit-hill, then playing Roberth at the U of A, and getting fucking smashed.  But I didn't cry about it, and I didn't come close to quitting.  I went home, and I looked up videos, I researched strategies, and I fucking worked on my game.  The next time we met, I still lost, but at least I beat his Cammy.  What happened to those players?  The ones who lost a match and didn't immediately cry about how broken the game was, or about how unfair it is, or about how much sand they have in their vaginas?  Are they seriously the majority of people in the "casual" community now?  Or is it just "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" type thing?  I mean, I can understand changing a few things, but shit man, did someone form a coalition of shitty fighting game players?  Did they petition namco and specifically ask for a garbage fighting system?  I seriously want to know...

In any event, fucking street fighting classic collection is like 18 bucks now.  I should play some 3S, I know Rock's prolly bored.

I've decided to finally create a journal specifically for gaming. Mostly because I don't feel I know enough gamers myself, and would like to meet with a few other people <.>

As you can tell from the title, I play basically two genres of games. FFXI (It's its own genre >.>;;;) and Fighting games. I also occasionally play some Diablo, a few FPS, and a go through random fits of shitty games (See: I've been playing the X-Men legends series... Blue Nightcrawler needs health potion badly?!?!) But yeah, this is going to my first post, and hopefully the first of many!
